DIY 3D ALPHABETS

This are the DIY 3D alphabets that were done by me and my coursemates for the Typography class with Mr Jay Lim. Each of us (students) must create two alphabets; must be a serif font and a sans serif font. Making these 3D letters are very fun but it is hard to make it because lack of the folding techniques and so on. However, we nailed it yeahhh.

THE SERIF FONT

The typography artworks using serif and sans serif fonts out of newspapers. This helps me to determine which is the serif font and sans serif fonts. Plus, understanding the usage of both typeface in all type of media. Serif font is an ancient / old yet a classy font, while sans serif is very modern, young and fresh.

SUSHI

The fifth work for basic computer class, making a sushi logo. I started with the shape of the sushi, then choose the color to add onto the design. There's so many choices of color, but in the end I choose yellow, green, and pink.

3D

Lesson for week 5, using 3D effects. For the text, the 3D extrude and bevel were used to make the text more realistic. The shape below the text were construct by using the 3D revolve. 3D rotate were used for the last piece. Overall, the lesson for this week are very fun.

"ROY LICHTENSTEIN'S ARTWORKS"

Roy Fox Lichtenstein

This is Roy Lichtenstein, who was an American pop artist. He was born on October 27th, 1923, and died on September 29th, 1997. His work defined the basic premise of pop art through parody. He favoring the comic strip as his main inspiration. Roy Lichtenstein produced hard-edged, precise compositions that documented while it parodied often in a humorous manner. His work was heavily influenced by both popular advertising and the comic book style. In my opinion, his artworks are very interesting. I really amazed on how he makes his artworks by using dots. These are the examples of his works, "Drowning Girl", and "Hopeless".
